HFESS + SUSS Seminar: A Journey in Human Factors – Navigating Change & Complexity

Dr Reid will first share his journey in the field of Human Factors by describing the key projects he was involved in at Boeing, the challenges faced, and lessons learnt along the way.

He will share how he dealt with the constant changes in trends and technology at work. Dr Reid will provide guidance and advice for students and graduates interested in pursuing a career in Human Factors by sharing insights on navigating the complex and ever-changing field of Human Factors and dealing with the new norms.

The seminar will end with a Q&A session to allow attendees to ask Dr Reid any questions they may have.

About the speaker Dr Chris Reid
Dr Chris Reid is currently a Technical Fellow for Boeing. Among other responsibilities, he manages Boeing’s Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) portfolio, which includes wearable technology such as exoskeletons, mixed reality, and wearable sensing and computing systems.

Dr Reid had also worked for Lockheed Martin on astronaut spacesuit assessment and Warfighter personal protective equipment. Dr Reid is the Immediate Past President of the Human Factors & Ergonomics Society and an Adjunct Professor of Practice at Clemson University.

He earned degrees in Electrical Engineering Technology (BSc) and Industrial Engineering (MSc and PhD) from the University of Central Florida.
